Pre-K Enrollment & Registration

PRE-K PROGRAM BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Mascoutah School District has four Pre-Kindergarten classrooms housed at Wingate Elementary and Scott Elementary School. Our Pre-K program is an at-risk program. Wingate Elementary is part of the Preschool for All program and Scott Elementary is part of the Title I Pre-K program. The Pre-K program offers a morning and afternoon session at both buildings. Currently, children that live on Scott Air Force Base are eligible to attend the Pre-K program at Scott Elementary School. Children that live within the Mascoutah and Wingate Elementary School boundaries are eligible to attend the Pre-K program at Wingate Elementary School. These locations are subject to change based on student enrollment and space availability.

Acceptance into the Pre-K programs is determined through a formal screening process. Children are ranked in order of need to fill the program. If you are interested in the Pre-K program, we will utilize the results of the formal screening tool (DIAL-4), as well as risk factors identified during an At-Risk Interview to determine your child’s placement on the ranked list. Screenings are held four to six times per school year and require an appointment. You may schedule an appointment at an upcoming screening by contacting Amy Cook at 618-566-7414, ext. 3117.

If your child is found eligible for one of our Pre-K classrooms, you will receive a formal invitation and directions to register your child at the school he or she will be attending. If your child is not accepted into the program and is placed on a waiting list, we will contact you if and when an opening becomes available. This could happen anytime during the school year.

Pre-K ONLINE REGISTRATION

Complete the online Pre-Kindergarten registration if you received notification that your child was accepted into the program. Parents or guardians will fall into one of the following categories:

PARENTS OR GUARDIANS NEW TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT

Parents or guardians who are new to the school district and are enrolling a student into Pre-Kindergarten for the upcoming school year will have to create a Qmlativ Family Access account by accessing the New Families to Mascoutah School District 19 form.

Once done, please log in to your Qmlativ Family Access account. Once logged in, go to Family Access to complete the 19-20 Pre-K Registration Only form (click on the dropdown arrow next to the house icon and choose New Student Enrollment). Please use the date "08/14/2019 Wednesday" as the Expected Enrollment Date when completing the online form.

PARENTS OR GUARDIANS WHO HAVE OR HAVE HAD STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THE SCHOOL DISTRICT

Parents or guardians who have or have had students enrolled in the school district and are enrolling a student into Pre-Kindergarten for the upcoming school year will have access to an online form. Please log in to your Qmlativ Family Access account. Once logged in, go to Family Access to complete the 19-20 Pre-K Registration Only form (click on the dropdown arrow next to the house icon and choose New Student Enrollment). Please use the date "08/14/2019 Wednesday" as the Expected Enrollment Date when completing the online form.

ADDITIONAL FORM NEEDED FOR REGISTRATION

Also you will complete the Home Language Survey during the online registration process. If you need access to the form after you have completed the online registration form, you may access it here: Home Language Survey. You may print and complete this form, or, if you have a Gmail account, you can open it in Google Docs, make a copy, electronically complete the form, and print the form.


REQUIRED ITEMS

  • Certified Birth Certificate (originals only)
  • State or Military Photo ID of registering parent/guardian
  • Any up-to-date Health Records including immunizations
